Overview

Littlepoole was founded durring the late 12th century in fall of the year 1071, by Glêbm Hills. The establishment of Littlepoole was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Littlepoole 's construction back out of the project. Glêbm Hills pushed on reguardles, and Littlepoole was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Littlepoole was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Littlepoole is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Littlepoole is is constructed arround a series of crampt paverstone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Littlepoole 's size could have. Astonishigly, the well-designed, yet cheep are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Your first impression of Littlepoole proves to be right on the money. This town is where the rebels chose to settle. Fashion trends are quite simply the opposite of what’s popular in the other nearby communities. THis trend extends everywhere. Things that should be black are white, what would normally be square is organically curved, and what is typically unthinkable for polite society is more than welcome in this public square. Up to the logical limits, of course. There’s no flaying someone alive to eat their skin going on, but the women are dressed a little immodestly, the men are a little more emotional, and the food is all overly complex and terrible.

Cultural Notes

Littlepoole 's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is skipped in Littlepoole .

Littlepoole 's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves performance art to channel Necromancy energies of tier 1 via speaking in tongues.

Points of Interest

A great magical Working has been a critical part of Littlepoole since its creation, but now it's beginning to decay. It may function only intermittently, now, or its effects may have curdled into something double-edged. The locals have no idea how to fix it, and indeed, it may not be possible to repair it with modern science or sorcery.

Due to a magical anomaly, Littlepoole is directly accessible from a nearby river, despite the lack of a physical connection between the town's pond and the river.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Littlepoole was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Littlepoole lost 153 people, 368 livestock, and 82 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 188, when members of Littlepoole 's militia enacted an operation to locate a particular solgiers group. The operation was complicated by at least some of the intelligence related to the operation was incorrect. The conflict ended with the defense of the fortification against a siege, which ended in a crushing defeat for Littlepoole 's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Littlepoole 's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
